About Rahat Noor, MD
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and an Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS. I obtained my medical degree from the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and completed my Internal Medicine residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. After a two-year Fellowship in Melanoma Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, I did a Fellowship in Geriatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX.
I have been practicing Hospital Medicine since 2013 and joined the University of Mississippi Medical Center as faculty in 2016. In addition to clinical duties, I have been involved in multiple clinical trials and have publications that are listed in my curriculum vitae. I am actively involved in multiple medical societies and am a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Fellow in Hospital Medicine (FHM), and Fellow of the Southern Society of Clinical Investigation.
My interest lies in Health Systems Science, and I am course director for the Quality Improvement curriculum in our Internal Medicine Residency Program. Currently, I am a part of Goals of Life and Learning Delineated (GOLLD) which is a collaborative project with Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is supported through a grant by the American Medical Association's Reimagining Residency initiative.
